May 10, 2012: Foodlinks Conference "Public Procurement of Sustainable Food" in London, UK
The Conference "Public Procurement of Sustainable Food" of the Foodlinks project took place in London on May 10, 2012. It was organized by the City University London.
As part of the work to externalise the activities of the Foodlinks project as a whole and the work of the Foodlinks group "Revaluing Public Procurement" in particular, a small day conference on "Public Procurement of Sustainable Food" was organised at City University London, on 10 May 2012.
Conference speakers reflected on Sustain’s UK projects and campaigns on public sector food procurement (see http://www.sustainweb.org/goodfoodpublicplate/ 
) as well as school food, new initiatives in England and Scotland, the Olympics and more. The day ended with a panel discussion (see programme below).
The conference provided opportunities to share learning, experiences and ideas about how to revalue public sector food procurement in both the UK and across Europe.
